Travelling from West Griffith to the CBD on foot may soon be a little bit safer, with a new pedestrian bridge set to be built across the canal. The pedestrian and cyclist bridge will connect Noorla and Kywong Streets, offering residents a safer alternative to walking along the Merrigal Street bridge, which has no safe space for those not in vehicles. The bridge is being built in anticipation of increased pedestrian traffic in the area, as a result of the Westend Stadium and Jubilee Oval developments.
